First workout

Well, sort of the first workout, if you don't count Sunday's 5k on no running. I probably ran harder then.

We did a hill workout today, my first and probably their 3rd. 3 x 3 minutes, 3 x 2 minutes, 3 x 1 minute. I was still on the fence as we warmed up about doing it, but then it sort of just happened and there I was doing it. Scott, Justin and Bob, in that order, led the charge up the hill. I was reluctant to pursue, but moved up with Scott. I crossed the street because I car was coming, and it was funny because I stayed pretty even with Scott until we got to the middle of the hill, where there's a bend, and it looked like Scott was going really fast. But in reality it was as though he were in lane 1 and I was in lane 8.

I didn't ever go very fast. Looking at my paces for the 3s, 2s, and 1s, they were as follows: 6:17, 6:14, 6:14, 6:04, 5:52, 5:58, 5:54, 5:38, 5:27. So at no point did I run a faster pace than I did at the race on Sunday. Not my best workout. Compare that what I did the first two weeks of February and I am a lot slower today. However, it was my first workout of the summer, I haven't been running, and it was hot as hell already at 4:45. No reason to be pessimistic about it.

I was very hot, thirsty, hot, sweaty, sore, and hot. But happy to have done it. My legs are tired. So that's good.
