Today was the Great Train Race. I basically peaked for this long run by not running the past two days. KC had people over Friday and I skipped in the morning, then yesterday we had to go to a track meet for Walker-Grant (where the kids ran fantastically!) and got home 45 minutes before the Lafayette Pasta Party! So running didn't happen either of those days for entirely opposite reasons.
So this morning I parked downtown to meet Tim for 90 minutes. He didn't show up, so I went alone after waiting about 5 minutes. I went over into Stafford for a majority of the time, trying to decide where to go next at all times. I started to run low on time, so I had to book it back to town to catch the start of the 12 year old boys race. It was my last time running with Patrick, so I had to be ready. He ran 15:09, and I later found out that they stopped the timer before we got there so he's not even in the results.
I stayed until the end helping out at the starting line. It was fun but a really long day. There were some Lafayette kids in the races, but the best race of the day was the 11 year old girls heat, where 4 of my girls at Walker-Grant were in the top 20 or so.
I have really been slacking while running lately. Hopefully the half marathon will kick my butt and I'll get back into it after a lousy performance.
