I'm fairly confident I have a sinus infection. My nose is always stuffed up and I can blow it at all times. When I started running, I felt like I had coins shaking around in my head. I slept in this morning because I'm exhausted. I came home right away after school to go run so I could eat with KC before she had to go back to school to proctor some tests.
When I started running, I wasn't sure what I was going to do... workout or no workout. There was zero wind running across Walker-Grant, so I decided to go for it at the track. Of course as soon as I get to the track, it gets windy and starts raining. So I felt cold and stiff the whole time. The workout was 4 x 800, with the first 600 at 5k pace, then the last 200 hard. Then run another 2 x 400 hard. I started out too quickly for the first 200, and then never quite got into running "fast" for the last 200 of each 800. My last 800 was so awful, I felt like I was walking and that I needed to use the bathroom, so I stopped. I didn't see any point in trying to run two more hard 400s when I could barely run a hard 200 as it were.
Fortunately the bathrooms at the baseball field were open, so I made it to the diamond and then jogged home.
One thing of note: it's amazing how easy it feels to run 6:30-7:30 pace in the afternoons compared to the mornings. I wonder if doing my quality runs in the afternoon would be a good idea.
I'm running the Half on Sunday. I paid for it like a sucker too, only to get a text today asking if I needed any entry, presumably for free. So theres another $75 down the drain. At least I know I'll go out slow Sunday and start working in the back 9.
