Today I couldn't decide if I wanted to go run hard or drink all night long.
I didn't go this morning because I worked until 7:30 last night and was home for less than two hours before I tried to get in bed. I was tired and my feet hurt. I had my first SOL test today, it took forever (good thing) but I had no time to myself today (bad thing) to recharge. I left work right away, hung out at home for a bit, and then went out the door.
As usual, the pace was mid 6-minutes right off the bat. Still amazes me. I decided to push it a little today while I debated how far I would run, and the pace got into the low 6-minutes. I looped around through town until I got to 5 miles, then I turned around to head home. Some girl in a green car yelled at me, I didn't know who it was. It turns out it was the Jap. It had been a while. But I kept going instead of stopping, because I think I was under 6 minute pace at that point.
I slow down once I got back into Alum Springs, but only briefly. When I hit Route 1, that's when I stopped trying to push. Going up the hill I was still running in the 7-Ohs. But around Twin Lakes, my watch started beeping at me. The memory was full, and it was displaying an error message that said to press enter. I assumed it was going to delete the oldest stuff automatically, but it didn't. Apparently it just stopped tracking me with satelites, but continued the time. I tried pressing enter, but it kept giving the same error. So once I got back to school, I stopped and deleted an older run. I thought that would fix the problem, but it didn't. So the run was short on my watch. It kept alerting me of the miles, which I don't understand. So it beeped for 10 miles while I was on the WG field hockey field, but it only recorded 9.5. Unfortunate, because I wanted to know how fast I averaged. I know I was under 6:30 the entire time, except after Alum Springs.
It doesn't matter. It was a good effort on sore legs.
